Today’s service call was at a home where we didn’t install the original surveillance system. The homeowner could no longer view the cameras through the phone app.

We quickly traced the issue to a network extender in the basement. After resetting it and reconnecting it to the main network, we had the cameras working properly on their phones again.

It may have looked easy, but that’s only because we’ve dealt with issues like this thousands of times before.

This is also why we always recommend running a hardwired connection from your router to your camera system whenever possible. A proper wired connection is more reliable and can prevent many of these problems.
